Some Makeup Artists work on special effects makeup teams where they apply stage makeup to create unique looks and the appearance of artificial scars, cuts and bruises. Makeup Artists work on film and television production sets and locations, and they often assist artists backstage during live theater and concert productions. In addition to providing services in entertainment/performance settings, some Makeup Artists are hired for special events, such as weddings and personal photo or video shoots, or work at makeup counters in department stores.
