Integration engineers essentially create and apply solutions for implementations between hardware, software and other systems between the different departments of an organization or throughout it. They assess existing systems to determine how they can be integrated with other systems or if and where they need to be replaced. Integration engineers also communicate with their clients or the relevant individuals in their organization to understand the integration needs and create test plans and designs.

An integration engineer is charged with the somewhat nebulous task of developing and integrating hardware, IT and software systems that organizations use. They implement solutions and then coordinate their integration between different parts of an enterprise and its divisions. In addition, integration engineers often reuse existing solutions when possible and also perform troubleshooting for ICT systems.
