Residential Counselors generally work in structured living environments, such as substance use rehabilitation, sober living, mental health or youth behavioral facilities. They assist residents with meeting their goals and adapting their behaviors based on the specific situation and type of facility. They work directly with residents in one-on-one and group settings, providing support for daily activities and enforcing community rules. They also help residents maintain consistent routines.
A Residential Counselor, or Rehab Residential Counselor, provides direct support and care to the residents of a facility.
