A competitive Robotics Engineer will have certain skills and qualifications, including:
- Proficiency in computer-aided drafting and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) software used to create system designs
- Expertise in using tools such as welding and soldering equipment to make prototypes
- In-depth knowledge of computer science, machine learning, mathematics, physics and mechanics
- Strong oral and written communications to explain complex terms to individuals who lack expertise and compose clear manuals and instructions
- Time management skills to reach design process milestones within given timelines
