A Greeter, or Host/Hostess Greeter, is responsible for welcoming guests, customers and visitors as they enter various establishments. Their duties include directing patrons to their seats, directing customers to products in grocery stores and retail establishments and advising customers on store promotions.
A Greeter should be able to fulfill various duties and responsibilities. The following are some duties and responsibilities a Greeter should be able to execute:
- Holding doors open for incoming guests
- Directing customer complaints to upper management and supervisory personnel
- Handing out promotional materials and coupons to customers as they enter retail establishments or grocery stores
- Offering free samples to incoming customers
- Ensuring all entering guests meet security requirements when applicable
