People holding these positions work in several different fields, including climate science, real estate, military, retail and resource planning, applying geographical analysis to that particular field. They often use the data to solve problems in the field or provide information that helps shape decisions the company makes. Creating maps using mapping software is often a part of the job. These analysts also present the information they discover using written documents and presentations.
